Famous Kansans
The 4th grade class will be celebrating famous Kansans on Friday, January 27.
WRHS Pep Band Visits AE
The Washburn Rural High School Pep Band will be visiting Auburn students on Monday, January 30. They will
perform during a school assembly at 1:30 PM.
Skate Night
Tuesday, January 31 will be a Skate Night for grades PreK - 3. The event will begin at 6:00 PM.
Spring Pictures
Smile, spring pictures and class pictures will be taken on February 2.
CiCi's Pizza Night
Join us for a Family Pizza Night at Cici's Pizza on February 2. We will be meeting at the restaraunt from 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
Popcorn Friday
The AE PTO volunteers to pop popcorn every 1st Friday of the month. Students and staff may purchase
a bag if they wish. The money earned is used to purchase items for the school library.
The next Popcorn Friday will be February 3.
Pennies for Patients
The AE StuCo is sponsoring a Pennies for Patients Collection for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The collection will take place
February 6 through February 24.
7th Grade Enrollment
The Washburn Rural Middle School counselors will be meeting with 6th graders on Thursday, February 9 to help them get pre-enrolled in
their 7th grade courses.
Bake Sale
The Auburn Elementary 1st Grade will be holding a bake sale on Friday, February 10 during lunch.
Body Venture
The 5th grade class had the opportunity to participate in Body Venture on Wednesday, January 25.

Parent-Teacher Conferences
Scheduled times for the February 15 - 16 Parent-Teacher Conferences were sent home with students Tuesday, January 17th. Assigned times
were based on requests given to the school office in October. If you do not receive your scheduled time or need to change the time,
please contact the school office (339-4400) as soon as possible.
Visiting Author/Illustrator
In April, 2012 the USD 437 librarians are hosting the author/illustrator, Diane deGroat. To learn more about Mrs. deGroat and her

TrueFlix is a site provided by Scholastic that helps students increase their reading skills by providing video introductions to books
and online access to those books. Students can also use the read along feature to help them read.
